About Keri & Her Mission
Keri’s Experience & Commitment
For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my career to education, and that experience has shaped my belief that Harford County must ensure every student has meaningful opportunities after graduation. That includes strong college‑prep pathways, robust vocational programs, and intentional support for students with learning differences. In exploring successful models—such as the Erskine Green Training Institute in Indiana, which provides job training for individuals with disabilities—I have seen what is possible. I believe Harford County should expand job‑training options for students who are not pursuing a two‑ or four‑year college degree, ensuring that all young people can transition into adulthood with confidence and purpose.
Having worked in both public and private schools, I have also seen how essential it is to elevate and protect the teaching profession. Each year, educators’ professional expertise is increasingly marginalized, even as expectations continue to rise. One of my priorities is advocating for competitive salaries and benefits that reflect the dedication teachers bring to their classrooms. To attract and retain high‑quality teachers, we must offer strong benefits, secure pensions, and a truly livable wage.
I have taught students from age three through age twenty‑one, and that experience has shown me how profoundly early childhood education shapes long‑term success. High‑quality pre‑kindergarten programs give children the chance to build early learning habits, develop routines, and practice social‑emotional skills with peers. These early foundations make a measurable difference in student achievement over time.
If elected, I would prioritize school funding in three key areas: teacher salaries and benefits, expanded post‑graduate opportunities, and student achievement. As a longtime math teacher, I have spent my career analyzing data to understand what drives improvement. The evidence is clear—when teachers are supported with the right materials, training, and actionable resources, student outcomes improve.
My commitment is to ensure that every student in Harford County has access to the opportunities, educators, and support systems they need to thrive.

Parents are primary educators of students. Any time curriculum or books are in question of a family’s religious, moral or cultural belief system they have the opportunity to opt out of that curriculum. Leaving curriculum and books to the experts in the field is necessary.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging is not just relevant but essential. All students need to feel a sense of belonging otherwise they struggle to be successful. Equity is an extremely important issue to me. Every single day effort is needed to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for the benefit for our children.
